Introduction to the VisitFred.com listings administration tool
The administration tool on visitFred.com has been designed to let business owners add, edit, and delete business listings and events information on the site.
These instructions have been written to help new administrators better understand what features are available and how they work.
Account Creation and Log-in
You must have an account to use the visitFred.com administration tool. You can create a free account by visiting www.visitFred.com and clicking the “Submit Info” link found at the bottom right of any page and choose “Click here to create an account” to register.
Once you’ve created your account, you are free to add, edit and delete listings on the site.
My listing is already on the site. How did it get there and how can I access it in the admin tool?
The visitFred.com website currently has hundreds of listings, most of which have been entered by FAT staff or transferred from previous print and online materials.
If your listing is currently on the site, you can request that it be transferred to your control by calling or emailing Karen Hedelt at 1-800-260-3646 or khedelt@fredericksburgva.gov
Adding, Editing or Deleting Listings
After you have logged in, you will be presented with the View Listings screen which contains each of your listings. This screen shows the listing name, where it is located on the site, when it was last changed and it’s status.
Adding a Listing: To add a new listing, click the “Add Listing” link at the top of the screen, complete the form and click the “Save” button in the lower right corner of the screen.
Any time you create or modify a listing it will be reviewed by FAT staff to ensure everything’s correct. Once it has been reviewed and accepted it will be published live to the site. All listings are approved or rejected within 3 business days.
How do I get an image of by business on the site?
The administration tool does not allow images to be uploaded. To add an image to your listing, please email the image to Karen Hedelt at khedelt@fredericksburgva.gov, indicating which listing it should be added to. Images are added to the site in groups once per week.
Deleting a Listing: A listing may also be deleted by clicking the “delete” link, also found on the right side of the screen. A pop-up warning will ask if you’re sure this should be deleted. Click ‘yes’ to delete the listing from the site. Note: this will permanently remove the listing, which cannot be recovered.
Modifying a Listing: You can edit this listing by clicking the “edit” link on the right side of the row. This will present an edit screen containing all information for this listing, which you can change. Note: many pieces of information are required and marked with an asterisk.

To add/view/modify events, click the View Events link in the top menu bar. This will bring you to a page listing all of the events you own. This screen shows the event name, start date, end date, city, when it was last changed and it’s status as “Live” or Review”, the account owner, delete link, and edit link.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where is my listing?
If you’re listing is visible on the site, but not within your account, you will need to have it transferred to you. Contact Karen Hedelt at 1-800-260-3646 or khedelt@fredericksburgva.gov to transfer ownership.
How can I display my listing in multiple categories?
In order to have a listing in multiple categories, you will need to create a new listing for each category you would like your information displayed. FAT staff will review each listing to ensure it is placed in the correct location.
What if I need to change my information?
Changing your listing information is simple. Just log in to your account, click the view listings link at the top navigation bar, find the listing you wish to edit, and then click ‘edit.’ Once your listing is edited, it will be submitted for review and approved within 3 business days.
Why doesn’t the directions link work properly?
If your address and ZIP code are not properly entered the directions will not display properly. Please double check your address and ZIP code for proper entry.
