Liberty Town Arts Workshops
LibertyTown Arts Workshop, started in 2002 by local artist and visionary Dan Finnegan in what was once the plumbing supply house for the long gone Fredericksburg Hardware store. He had a dream to turn the cavernous space into many smaller studios for local artists to rent at reasonable costs. He wanted something like the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, only with more open doors and a homier feel. By all accounts, he was wildly successful. In 2013 he turned the ropes over to D.D. and Kenneth Lecky, two local artists who have continued to grow the business, and
The 13,000 square foot gallery on two floors, has over 40 local craftspeople and artists. Artists create and show right on site in 27+ active studio spaces. We have potters, wood workers, encaustic artists, sculptors, glass artists, oil painters, pastel artists, water colorists, and fiber art.
As if that wasn’t enough, we also offer CLASSES in:
Pottery ( Young kids, teenagers and adult classes available)
Glass fusing (special one day classes on Saturdays are frequent)
And much much more!
