DESCRIPTION

An Evening with “Colonial Faire,” A Revolutionary Musical Experience

Historic Kenmore invites you to the Arts at Kenmore: Music on the Lawn, the first in a new series of special events on the beautiful lawn of Fielding and Betty Washington’s Lewis’s stately 18th century home.

At Music on the Lawn spend an evening with “Colonial Faire,” who will perform a musical Colonial Sampler of that time in America. Hear music performed in all walks of colonial society – the music of the taverns, the manor houses, on the streets and on the battlefields.

The evening’s opening act will include a short talk exploring the importance of music to George Washington and a theater scene depicting Washington’s first dancing lesson which took place in Fredericksburg.

Please bring lawn chairs or blankets. You’re also welcome to bring a picnic dinner to enjoy on the lawn.
