Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park

All park grounds and trails are open, sunrise to sunset.

Fredericksburg Battlefield Visitor Center

Closed for scheduled maintenance beginning August 4, 2025. Closure expected to last 6-7 months.
Park Store – open daily, 9am – 5pm

Sunken Road Walking Tour
Join a guided tour of the one of the most iconic and recognized battlefield landmarks of the war. (Weekends; 10:30 am & 2 pm; 45 minutes)

Chatham

Building is closed for scheduled maintenance project.
Grounds are open 9am – 5pm daily.

Historic home and grounds which served as a field hospital and a Union headquarters during the Civil War.

Chancellorsville Battlefield Visitor Center

Open daily | 9am – 5pm
Features a 22-minute orientation film offered on the hour and half hour and exhibits.

Investigating Chancellorsville
Why did the US and the Confederate armies clash in May of 1863 and why does it matter? Join park staff to learn about the Chancellorsville Campaign and dive into some of the big questions surrounding this contested battle. (Weekends; 10:30 am & 2 pm; 30 minutes)

Ellwood & Wilderness Battlefield

Wilderness Exhibit Shelter – open-air exhibit shelter. Open sunrise to sunset.
Ellwood House is closed.
The grounds around Ellwood are open sunrise to sunset, even when the house is closed.
To access the grounds, park at the Ellwood Manor gate, leaving the gate clear, and walk .4 miles to the grounds.

Spotsylvania Court House Battlefield

An open-air exhibit shelter is open sunrise to sunset.

“Stonewall” Jackson Death Site

Historic building where General Jackson died.
Building closed.
Grounds are open sunrise to sunset.

Old Salem Church

Historic church which served as a battlefield landmark and field hospital during the Chancellorsville Campaign.
Building closed. Grounds open daily, sunrise to sunset.

Restroom facilities are available 9am – 5pm, daily at the Fredericksburg Battlefield Visitor Center, Chatham, the Jackson Death Site, Ellwood, and the Spotsylvania Exhibit Shelter.
